Hello everyone, Ben from Nightfall Studios here. I’m here to guide you through your first steps in Shadow of a Second Sun, and teach you all the ins and outs of gameplay and controls.

If you haven’t already downloaded the latest playable version, you can find that here or in the side bar.  In this version, all the combat, puzzle and (most of the) game mechanics have been implemented. It is important to note this is not a beta or demo and does not represent the final game. Ultimately, we do hope you enjoy playing this version as much as we do, but feedback is the main goal. So, while you are playing please keep an eye out for any bugs we may have missed (they will be there), as well as anything else you may want to comment on. Don’t be afraid to send us any kind of feedback, no matter how trivial. If you think a certain weapon is underpowered, or overpowered, let us know. Balancing is key to creating good gameplay.

If  Shadow of a Second Sun is an Action-Adventure game, it’s safe to say this has most of the action stuff finished and a little of the adventure. The action stuff is the combat mechanics, the adventure stuff is the nonlinear paths through the world, dungeons and toolkeys. It has none of the plot, characters or world planned for the full game, but it contains most of the machinery needed to make that stuff run. At the moment, we are working on developing the world and plot.
